So if you're reading this thread, you saw that link in the OP of one of our threads and you're interested in joining. To which we say, great! We'd be more than happy to have you, and if you bring something great to the table, we welcome it!
But with that said, there are rules. If you want to be a member of this community (and really that's what it is, a community), you'll have to follow them. So, here they are:
Voting:
All matches will be decided by votes. Only people on the WWE roster may vote in matches. You do not need to have a character on the show that is being held on that particular day. When you vote, you must state that the person/team you are voting for is hitting a certain move on the opposition.
Whichever competitor gains the most votes in a match wins. The GM/owner will set the time limit for each match. Some matches may be more complex, but they will be explained before it takes place. In the event of a tie, the GM in charge of the show will break it in whatever way they see fit. For example, when I run a show, I tend to use Random.org to break ties.
Additionally, in any match where voting is done ahead of time (such as the Royal Rumble), please send your ballots to the general managers, listing the participants from 1 to however many people are in the match. Your #1 pick will receive the most points, your #2 will receive the second most, and so on and so forth.
Character Swaps and the "Tag-Rule":
If you feel something isn’t working out with one of your characters, you may switch them out for someone else at anytime. There is no limit on how many swaps you may make, but please try to be reasonable and not swap all your characters out on a weekly basis.
You are allowed up to three tag-ruled characters PER TAKEN CHARACTER. You may use these characters as tag team partners, managers, valets, bodyguards, friends with benefits, gurus, whatever you want. Tag-ruled characters can have their own angles and feuds, as long as a link is established with the character they're tag-ruled to first. And there should still be interaction on at least a semi-regular basis. What semi-regular is will be up to the discretion of the General Manager.
If you are interested in a character that someone else has tag-ruled, it is considered respectful to get permission from that person before taking said character.
Releases and Injuries:
If someone is released in real life, they're gone from here, unless they're taken or tag-ruled. The person who has them can keep them if they wish or they can drop them and take someone new.
If a wrestler or Diva in the game suffers a serious injury in real life, such as those to Tazz, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Arn Anderson, Ricky Steamboat, Edge, Santino Marella, Corey Graves, and (until anything is confirmed otherwise) Tyson Kidd, they will be considered off-limits for being picked as a full-time character. In addition, if they are taken, they must be dropped within one month of the announcement.
However, under special circumstances (which must be approved by both GMs), consideration may be taken to allow a one-off match appearance, within reason.
Participation and Inactivity:
Participation in this game is considered a commitment. While you are not expected to promo or roleplay for every show, it is expected that you try to stay at least semi-active.
Participation includes:
Sending in a promo for the day’s show.
Posting a “WWE.com Exclusive” promo or article in the thread when there is no show.
Posting a Tweet for your character in the thread.
If you go too long without being consistent, your character may be placed on a cut list. Depending on the situation, this will specify that your character must have a impactful role in a certain number of promos before a certain date. If you cannot complete this, your character will be cut, that is, taken from your ownership and placed up for grabs. The character you’re holding onto could be someone else’s next big breakout character. So use them or lose them. We have some guidelines for ensuring this does not happen to you below:
1. Not being booked is no excuse for not promoing. The roster is loaded with taken characters, it would be impossible for everyone to booked every week. But you can still submit a promo to keep your character in the spotlight. Or you can write a squash match against a non-taken character. If you‘re going several weeks without a match, request a booking. Just be sure to promo for that match.
2. Take some initiative. If you feel you‘re not receiving opportunities like title shots or PPV matches, don‘t just complain about it in the thread. PM people about starting an angle. Have your character state their intent to challenge for a specific title in a promo. Do something. If you just sit and wait for the General Managers to look your way, you have no right to complain about not being used.
3. If for some reason, you will be unable to participate for a month or longer, please inform all the bookers(save Booker T) via PM. If you have a good reason for the absence, we will be more lenient with the rules.
If you have any questions or concerns not addressed here, feel free to PM me or any of the other GMs.
Complaints and Concerns:
This game is, in the long run, meant to be a fun way to waste time. But when a thread gets clogged up with people complaining about a result or about how their character is being booked, it can ruin it for people. If you have a concern about something or just want to vent, you can PM the General Managers at any time.
Let it be said that we are very much a family here. And while families have squabbles, some dirty laundry is best aired in private, rather than in a public setting that anyone can read. We want newcomers to feel comfortable with joining up and ten pages of complaints/arguments could likely scare them off.
Also, DO NOT USE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS. That is very much cheating, and if you are found using multiple accounts to give yourself an advantage in the game, you will be banned, and you will not be allowed back under any circumstances. In addition, you may be banned from the forum entirely.
So overall? Don't break the rules.
Thank you for checking us out! If you've decided you want to join, then post in the thread back on FAN, and let us know who you want!
